Working safely is in the interest and concern of all staff, both employers and employees. Health and safety is one of the few areas where the law places specific duties specifically on employees so a knowledge of where this applies and how to ensure that it is adhered to is vital to protect individuals and businesses.
This section of the Working Safely course, takes you through ten topics which are vital in keeping yourself and your colleagues safe in a commercial catering environment.
The section works through various topics including First aid, Burns and Scalds, Illness protocol, Equipment safety etc to ensure that you are fully aware of the dangers and risks posed by working in these types of environments. There is also important information regarding the Safe use of chemicals and cleaning procedures.
This course is a great induction course in relation to health and safety as it covers a wide range of topics in some detail.
As this course covers a wide range of health and safety situations the course provides a strong basis to further build on with more training.
Training is not always the answer. A course covers awareness. Where the law asks for a competent person, a written risk assessment or a system you can evidence, training on its own will not close the gap. Tell us what you are trying to satisfy and we will say plainly whether this course does it.
Questions
Buy it online and the learner gets their login straight away. If you are booking for more than one person, or for several different courses, send us the list and we will quote for the group rather than charging person by person.
It is self paced, so learners can stop and pick up where they left off. The time shown is video content and does not count thinking time on the questions.
Yes. A certificate is issued once the learner passes, and you can download records for everyone you have enrolled.
Yes, per learner and excluding VAT. Group rates are better than the published price, so ask before booking a team.
For awareness it often is. Where a duty needs a competent person, a risk assessment or a documented system, training alone will not close it. If you are not sure which side of that line you are on, ask us before buying.
Next step
Tell us what you are trying to cover and how many people need it. We will tell you which courses do the job, whether a bundle works out cheaper, and where a course on its own will not satisfy the duty you are actually under.
