PUWER 1998
Machinery, powered tools, vehicles and access equipment assessed in normal operation. Guarding,
controls, isolation, maintenance records and operator training, with a rating and an action for each

ACOP L8, HSG274
Water systems surveyed, temperatures profiled, dead legs and stagnation points found, and a written
scheme of control where the risk needs one. Carried out by a safety consultancy with nothing to sell
you afterwards.

Every substance assessed against the safety data sheet the supplier issues now, and against how the
job is actually done. Exposure routes, workplace exposure limits, controls in hierarchy order, and a
re-review when a sheet or a process changes.
